Obituary
GRECH. On November 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELO (Charles) of Birkirkara, aged 87, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his beloved wife Maria, his only son Mario and his wife Pat, his much loved grandchildren David, Alexea and her husband Alastair, his brother Manuel and his wife Maria, his sister Vitorin, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Monday, November 10 at 8.30 a.m. for St Helen's Basilica, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment at the Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Caritas and Dar Tal-Providenza would be greatly appreciated. The family regrets it is unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Diabetes seminar
The Malta Diabetes Association in collaboration with Vivian Corporation will hold a half-day seminar titled Living With Diabetes at the Grand Hotel Excelsior, Floriana, on November 14 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Valletta F.C. Mass
Mass for the repose of the souls of past footballers, members and activists of Valletta Football Club will be said at St Augustine parish church, Valletta, on November 16 at 10.45 a.m.
Catenian Mass
The Catenian Association will hold Solemn High Mass concelebrated by 100 priests at the Mdina Cathedral on November 13 at 6.30 p.m.
Farewell concert
Bay Street will be hosting a farewell concert tomorrow for young singer Daniel Testa who will be representing Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on November 22 in Lemesos, Cyprus.
The ambitious and determined 11-year-old has been singing for the past four years and has won a number of national and international festivals, a spokesman for Bay Street said.
The farewell concert, which starts at 4.30 p.m., will feature all the young finalists who participated in the qualifying festival.
Boreholes deadline extended
The deadline for the notification of boreholes has been extended to November 20 following a proposal by farmer organisations. Applications were originally being accepted until Thursday.
Application forms, available from www.mra.org.mt, should be filled in by an architect and will be accepted upon payment of €230 to the Malta Resources Authority.
