Gozitans receive awards

This year's Ġieħ Għawdex award was presented to Maria Attard, Joseph M. Attard Tabone and John Portelli.

Ms Attard, director of Dar Giuseppe Debono, was given the award in recognition of her work in the social field while Mr Attard Tabone was recognised for his life-long crusade in favour of Gozo's archaeological heritage. Chev. Portelli's award was in recognition of his work in the tourism sector.

The Ġieħ Għawdex award was instituted by the Circolo Gozitano to honour individuals and organisations who have contributed to the socio-cultural and economic development of Gozo.
