Lotto department's affiliations

With reference to the report Maltco Joins World Lotteries Association (November 4), readers may wish to know that in 1960 the Public Lotto Department became a member of this association which was set up in 1956. Arthur Leaver and subsequent directors of the Lotto Department participated in many of the association's bi-annual meetings until the disbandment of the department in 2003. Also, the Public Lotto Department was one of the 16 founder members of the European Association of State Lotteries which was set up at Montreaux, Switzerland, on November 28, 1983.
