Crude truth needed about oil situation
With global peak oil looming and energy being top of the agenda across the world, how about some truth from the Maltese authorities?
Is there an amount of oil in Maltese waters that can be extracted? Roughly how much and how much is recoverable? What does the government plan to do about water table resource depletion? What's Malta doing about food security? Is there a national action plan for food security? Is there a national action plan for water security? How about some truth for once? People need to know and have a right to know.

Paul Smith, had you followed news releases by the government and the oil exploration company, you would have known that there are some 5 billion barrels of oil of which more than a billion and a half are immediately recoverable.
Since these reports are based on seismic evaluations, nothing is guaranteed.
Malta has gone through thousands of years without any semblance of security be it for food, water or indeed anything else.
The only time something like a security guarantee was given to the Maltese, they were dragged into a war which they had nothing to do with and the consequences of which are still with them to this day.
