Holidaymakers may decide which destination they want to be carried to over the high seas next summer during Malta's first Cruise Fair tomorrow.
The popularity of this type of holiday is on the increase with 13,000 people opting for a cruise this year, an increase of 30 per cent over last year, fair manager Joseph Cini said.
A good 40 per cent of bookings for summer trips were made the previous autumn to benefit from discounts that ranged between €500 and €1,000 per cabin. This sparked the idea to set up a Cruise Fair that will bring major established brands together allowing people to browse through them easily.
The brands present at the fair include Norwegian Cruise Liners, Royal Caribbean International and Costa Crociere.
Entrance to the fair is free. It opens between 6.30 and 9.30 p.m., at the Magazino Cruise Passenger Terminal, at the Valletta Waterfront.
