A 38-year-old man from Żejtun was yesterday granted bail after pleading not guilty to raping a girl who is not even 12.

Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona granted the bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000 and a deposit of €1,000.

The alleged incident took place in Marsascala on and before last year.

Police Inspector Graziella Muscat prosecuted.

Lawyers Manuel Mallia, Giannella Caruana Curran and Arthur Azzopardi appeared for the accused.
