Giggs equaliser earns United a point

Manchester United rescued a late point with a Ryan Giggs header in a 1-1 draw with Celtic in their Champions League Group E clash in Glasgow on Wednesday.

Scott McDonald lobbed an exquisite opener for Celtic's first goal in the group after 13 minutes when he fastened onto a headed knockdown by Gary Caldwell and left goalkeeper Ben Foster stranded from 14 metres.

Celtic's defence appeared to be holding firm during a second half onslaught from United until six minutes from the end when Cristiano Ronaldo forced a fine save from Artur Boruc with a shot from 25 metres but Giggs was on hand to head home the loose ball.

United and Villarreal, who drew 2-2 at Aab Aalborg, top the group on eight points with two rounds of matches remaining.
