October cooler than usual

October was the coolest for that month in 30 years.

The average temperature was 21.1°C, 0.4°C lower than in the last 30 years, while the mean temperature reached 24.4°C, 0.8°C lower.

The mercury hit its lowest ebb on October 6, at 14.7°C.

However, the average humidity was slightly higher than the 30-year norm, reaching 80 per cent.

Rainfall too was less than normal, with a mean of 60.6 mm compared to a 30-year mean of 72.5 mm.

There were seven days of thunderstorms, two days more than the average, while with an average 6.7 hours of sunshine a day, the month had 18 minutes less sun than the average of the last 30 Octobers.
