Piggybanks distribution opens L-Istrina campaign

L-Istrina will this year be organised by a consortium made up of Take 2 Ltd and MK Leisure Ltd, a subsidiary of Montekristo Estates, which belongs to construction magnate Charles Polidano.

The Ħal-Farruġ wine estates belonging to Mr Polidano, in fact, will serve as the venue from which the event will be broadcast on December 27 between noon and midnight.

The charity marathon kicks off on Wednesday with Bank of Valletta L-Istrina Campaign when about 5,000 piggybanks are distributed to schools. The piggybanks will be used to raise money for L-Istrina. Over 70,000 children will be involved in the piggybanks campaign.

A total of €1,164,000 were raised during last year's edition of L-Istrina.
