Simon Zammit registered his third win from four matches in the 2008 IBSF World Championships, currently being played in Austria, when he beat Shuji Hase, of Japan, 4-1 yesterday.
Zammit is fourth in Group A with four other players, all vying for the KO stages. Thailand's James Wattana is leading the group with five wins from five matches. Last night, Zammit was playing his fifth match against former world no.4 Kirk Stevens, of Canada.

From Group H, Alex Borg lost for the second time when he went down 4-3 to Henry Killian, of New Zealand. Borg led 2-1 and 3-2 but lost the sixth on the blue and never had a chance in the deciding frame.
Borg is second in Group H behind Pankaj Advani, of India, and with better frame difference than Jordan Brown, of Northern Ireland.
Borg needs to win one of his remaining two matches to be certain of a place into the knock-out stages.
