Jane and George Muscat, of Pietà, write:
Our dear friend Anton Agius is gone. But to us this soft-spoken gentleman with a heart of gold will go on living in our quasi-life size alabaster sculptures of the four seasons, created by him with such love and fervour. Besides, of course, the magnificent stucco ceiling confirming, without doubt his mastery of art in all its forms and textures.
Truly, Anton was a man of all seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter.
To you dear Louise, may God comfort you, knowing how faithfully you gave your support to the very end.
And as Shakespeare wrote, dear Anton we say to you:
"Fear no more the heat o' the sun,
Nor the furious winter's rages;
Thou thy worldly task hast done,
Home art gone, and ta'en thy wages."
Till we meet again.
