Two men were yesterday jailed for two years suspended for four after pleading guilty to their involvement in the theft of fuel.

Kevin Debono, 32, from Pieta, pleaded guilty to stealing fuel from Qormi on October 18. Paul Cremona, 45, from Sliema pleaded guilty to receiving a quantity of the stolen fuel.

The court, presided over by Magistrate Audrey Demicoli, heard that the police were holding other people for questioning in connection with the case. Police Inspectors Michael Mallia, Malcolm Bondin and Anne Marie Micallef prosecuted while lawyers Joe Mifsud and John Bonello appeared for the defendants.
