The Institute of English Language Studies (IELS) will celebrate its 25th anniversary in January. IELS, formerly part of LAL Group, has developed into an international English language teaching operation with an excellent reputation. The institute teaches around 10,000 students every year at its three schools in Malta and Gozo.

Following the setting up of a new management team and the restructuring of the Malta operation earlier this year, the institute has reverted to its original brand name and will have an autonomous marketing strategy.

This extraordinary rebranding project provides a unique opportunity to transform 25 years of teaching experience, large capacity of classrooms and a newly refurbished Days Inn residence with 200 beds for adults into competitive prices and attractive offers for the new year.

IELS runs a vibrant year-round centre for adults in Sliema; the 200-bed residence, which will be completely refurbished by March; a Young Learners' programme in Gzira; and a summer centre for adults in Għajnsielem.

The main school in Sliema, used for adult courses, was recently refurbished. The building has 100 classrooms, a cafeteria, a bookshop, a self-study centre and an internet café with free Wi-Fi access. The Days Inn residence has 100 studio apartments.

IELS also offers a wide selection of accommodation, including host families, student residential apartments and a small choice of hotel accommodation.

The Gozo school has 10 classrooms, a video room, an administration office, a reception area with vending machines and residential accommodation on the top floors.

The centre for the Young Learners Programme has undergone major refurbishment and has been renovated to create a dedicated learning environment for teenagers.

The centre comprises an open-plan lounge with a reception area, modern administration offices, 60 classrooms, and a large internal courtyard for students to enjoy their breaks and mingle with their friends.

The centre is managed by a team of academic, leisure and welfare co-ordinators and supervised by a centre administrator, thus guaranteeing a smooth operation and a pleasant experience for the students.

IELS, a founder member of Feltom, was recently accepted as a member of the World Youth Student Educational Travel Confederation (WYSETC), the Association of Language Travel Organisations (ALTO) and Safe Travel Accommodation for Youth Association (STAY WYSE).

An independent IELS brochure for 2009 was published recently and together with the launch of the new website www.iels.com.mt.
