John’s Garage Ltd wants to be the first carbon neutral transport company in Malta.

The company, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, this morning planted 50 trees near Ghar Lapsi in an activity attended by Rural Affairs Minister George Pullicino.

During the activity, the company’s board of directors accepted Mr Pullicino’s proposal for the company to become carbon neutral by compensating for the CO2 emissions it generated with tree planting.

More discussions between the company and the ministry are to be held in the coming days for a formula with which the number of trees to be planted can be calculated to be agreed upon.
