The number of people in full-time jobs rose by 3,426 in the year leading up to last June, while unemployment fell by 476, latest statistics show.
All sectors saw growth: The self-employed were up by 240 to reach 17,007 and the number of part-time employees rose by 2,594, which included 1,067 part-timers who also hold a full-time job.
The labour supply in June amounted to 151,118 persons, of whom 5,861 were unemployed.
While the number of jobs in the private sector increased by 4,014, public sector employment fell by 588, the National Statistics Office said. Growth was mainly seen in real estate, renting and business activities, social and personal service activities and health and social work activities.
Manufacturing saw a drop of 887 persons, while the electricity, gas and water supply sector shed 116 workers.
In the public sector jobs were mainly shed in transport, storage and communication, construction and education, while health and social work saw gains.
