One of the world's top-rated bowling coaches, Brian Voss, will be in Malta between November 11 and 18 to hold a coaching clinic for the national squad and other bowlers keen to improve their skills.
The coaching clinic is being organised on the initiative of the Malta Tenpin Bowling Association (MTBA) and is part of a European coaching tour by Voss, who has held similar activities in several countries across the continent.
This will be Voss's first visit to Malta, although his reputation certainly does precede him.
Apart from coaching, Voss has also enjoyed an extremely successful career as a player, winning his first ever Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) tour title in 1983, and the PBA National Championship in 1988, when he was also named PBA Player of the Year.
In fact, between 1987 and 1998, he managed an incredible winning streak of at least one PBA title in 12 consecutive seasons. This year, Voss was inducted into the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Hall of Fame on the very first ballot, having already been a member of the PBA Hall of Fame since 1996.
Although now semi-retired from full-time competition, Voss still figures in numerous major events around the world.
The MTBA have received assistance from the Eden SuperBowl and the InterContinental Hotel in their efforts to make Voss's trip to Malta possible, as well as constant support from the Maltese Olympic Committee.
