British Airways has completed the move of its final group of flights from Terminal 4 to its new exclusive home in Heathrow Terminal 5.

This move has increased the number of flights per day at Terminal 5 from 480 to more than 500, which represents about 92 per cent of the airline's total Heathrow operation.

Since its launch in March, Heathrow Terminal 5 has hosted more than 11 million customers and handled almost 80,000 flights and is now not only reaching its high expectations, but surpassing them.

James Stagno Navarra, British Airways' Commercial Manager in Malta, said: "Terminal 5 is working really well and is providing the best levels of customer service ever seen at Heathrow for many years, with record levels of punctuality and baggage performance.

"BA passengers departing Malta and connecting via Heathrow Terminal 5 can now enjoy a stunning-looking terminal and the very best levels of British Airways customer service.

"Now that we have the vast majority of our flights under one roof at Heathrow Terminal 5, BA customers transiting through Terminal 5 will experience a greater level of service and also shorten any connection times between flights to a minimum of one hour."

Terminal 5 has now been in operation for seven months, with an increasing flight schedule migrating to the new terminal in tranches.

With the aim of making travel to and from Heathrow Terminal 5 as enjoyable, calm and streamlined as Terminal 5 itself, British Airways has provided the tools to achieve that.

The terminal is equipped with 96 simple-to-use check-in kiosks, hosts that offer on-the-spot assistance, 96 Fast Bag Drops manned with staff members, 44 Terminal 5 customer service desks, six lounges, three Elemis Travel Spas, internet access, countless stores and restaurants and even 94 shower rooms.

Extra check-in and baggage staff have also been put in place by British Airways to ensure the smooth overall operation of the Terminal 5 expansion. Passengers going through Terminal 5 can now feel the difference compared to any other terminal.
