Libyan Foreign Minister Abdurrahman Mohamed Shalgem arrived in Malta last night for a short visit.

He is expected to have talks with Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi today. On the agenda are such issues as immigration and oil exploration in the waters between the two countries.

The Libyan minister will also attend a meeting of the Libya-Malta Mixed Commission, which meets every two years.

Mr Shalgem is also expected to pay a courtesy call on President Eddie Fenech Adami.
