Gharghur's main square was a collage of traditions this morning as a colourful exhibition of fruit and veg and a display of traditional skills rounded off World Food Day events.

On display were a wide array of vegetables, fruit, animals and fish while traditions linked to agriculture and fisheries were re-enacted.

The event included Mass celebrated by Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca, a parade of horses, carts and the mounted police and blessing of animals.

Resources and Rural Affairs Minister George Pullicino presented medals.
