Xagħra Primary School pupils were the first to visit the Gozo Public Library as part of its orientation programme for this year.

The aim of the visit is to familiarise schoolchildren with the facilities and other library services offered in Gozo.

The pupils, who were accompanied by teachers and parents, were given a short talk by a library official. Some of the pupils had the opportunity to leaf through new books acquired by the library, while others were given the opportunity to share their talents with their schoolmates during a short musico-literary recital.

Other visits are scheduled in the coming months. They are organised with the collaboration of the library and the Gozo College.

Over 1,200 Gozitan students participated in a similar programme last year.
