Radio KST (Kulleġġ Santa Tereża), a student-run radio station, was inaugurated on October 10 as a joint venture between Girls' Junior Lyceum, Mrieħel, and the Birkirkara Boys' Secondary School, which both form part of St Theresa College.
Keziah and Steve, two students from each school, were chosen as presenters for the first radio transmission. For the time being, transmissions will take place on Wednesdays and Fridays, with the boys taking part every other Friday.
The idea for the radio started at a meeting between the student councils of the two schools. One of the activity sessions carried out by the boys' school concerned the preparation of radio programmes for students.
The girls at the Junior Lyceum decided to prepare a jingle and following various subsequent meetings with the boys, the first programme was put forward.
The radio station is intended to be educational and entertaining, as well as serving as a link between the students at all the schools within the college.
