Despite the fact that we warn readers about internet scams, there are still people who fall for them. Someone who was asked to participate in the 'El Gordo de Navidad Award Program' has referred it to me to warn readers about the nature of this scam.

Suffice to say that in the application form, apart from asking for your name and personal details, also asks for your bank, account number, address, telephone number, fax, etc.

If you receive such mail, my only advice would be to throw it away.
