Six cars skid and collide
Six cars collided on the Mrieħel bypass during the rush hour yesterday morning after oil spilled from the engine of a van that had crashed against a tree.
The 40-year-old driver of the van, a Daihatsu HI, suffered fractures in his legs.
The collisions were minor and no other injuries were reported.
The busy road was partly closed at about 7 a.m., causing long tailbacks and a bumper-to-bumper diversion towards Ħamrun. It was reopened a couple of hours later.
