A number of MPs including Resources Minister George Pullicino and Opposition environment spokesman Leo Brincat today joined in a clean-up at Hal Far as part of Clean Up the World activities.

The activities started on Thursday and involved government workers, employees of a number of private companies, local councils, volunteers, school children and NGOs.

Clean-ups were held at L-Ahrax tal-Mellieha, Mellieha and Ghajn Tuffieha beaches, Bahar ic-Caghaq, Gnien Kottoner Cospicua, the Bugibba/Qawra rocky promenade and the Mdina and Valletta bastions.

Mr Brincat earlier visited the Foresta 2000 Grove at Mellieha, where he insisted that Malta's environmental assets need to be protected and cared for as much as the cultural heritage.
