Guide dog off for specialist training
One of the puppies that are being reared by the Malta Guide Dogs Foundation has been selected for specialist training at the Helen Keller School in Messina, Sicily.
Axel, a 14-month-old black Labrador, has been in the loving care of puppy walker Kenna Psaila for the past year. She has overseen the basic obedience training and has taken the dog to her heart. The pair have now been separated so that Alex can receive intense training at the guide dog School in Messina. If he graduates he will be the first home-bred guide dog in Malta.
"The Maltese people are getting used to seeing guide dogs in harnesses and not to discriminate against them or their owners," Ms Psaila said.

What a lovely dog! U did right in kissing the monitor Vincent! :) I feel like doing the same but I don't want a pop up to suddenly appear and let my wife see me kissing some scantily dressed girl! hehe

I am sure Alex will graduate with flying colours! Being a Labrador he surely has all the requisites. As for Kenna Psaila she will definitely miss Alex. I wish to congratulate her for fostering him for the past year - she is indeed brave. I think I will not be able to give him up after all this time. Labradors get to your heart so quickly!!!
