There were 1,038 non-fatal accidents at work between July and September, a 12 per cent decline over the same period of last year.

Forty-seven per cent involved people below 35 years of age and 87.3 per cent were males. As was the case last year, there was only one death.

Most accidents occurred within the sectors of manufacturing (28.5 per cent), construction (15.6 per cent) and transport, storage and communications (13 per cent).
