Budget Day confirmed

Acting Prime Minister and leader of the House Tonio Borg yesterday confirmed that Finance Minister Tonio Fenech would be presenting the 2009 Budget on Monday, November 3.

Moving two procedural motions, Dr Borg said that Leader of the Opposition Joseph Muscat would comment on Monday, November 10 while Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi would answer the opposition's criticism the following Wednesday.

The motions were unanimously carried.

The budget debate time-table, spread on six days of 10 sessions, is as follows:
Thursday, November 13 (9 a.m.): Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs; (6.30 p.m.): Ministry for Gozo;
Friday, November 14 (9 a.m.): Ministry for Social Policy;
Saturday, November 15 (9 a.m.): Ministry for Education, Culture, Youth & Sport;
Monday, November 17 (9.30 a.m.): Ministry for Foreign Affairs; (5.30 p.m.): Ministry of Finance, Economy and Investment;
Tuesday, November 18 (9 a.m.): Ministry for Justice and Home Affairs; (5 p.m.): Ministry for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications;
Wednesday, November 19 (9 a.m. and 5 p.m.): Prime Minister's Office; (9.30 p.m.): Appropriation.
