The death of sculptor Anton Agius was described as a loss to art and the country by the Labour Party.

Spokesmen Evarist Bartolo and Owen Bonnici said Mr Agius will be remembered for his impressive crucifixes, witness to his suffering and of those around him.

The opposition extended its condolences to the family of Mr Agius, who passed away on Monday.
