MLP denies costings were 'invented'

The Labour Party this afternoon strongly denied that it had invented the costings of the government’s proposed utility tariffs, as claimed by the government yesterday.

The party said its calculations were based on the Infrastructure Ministry's own figures, and if the minister was doubting them, then he was doubting his own figures.

Indeed, the ministry had not said how it had concluded that the figures were invented, the MLP said.

Why did it take MLP 24 hours to deny that costings were 'invented' it usually takes a couple of minutes for PN to add their side of the story.Just so their followers and apologists would know how to respond when faced with the news.

It would seem some correspondents are too hotheaded (and understandably so, thanks to Govt's handling of current situation) to understand your rhetorical question. Needless to say, you are right in implying that Govt is deliberately perverting any news coming from the MLP. Unfortunately we do not have any real independent media except for one paper which I would not mention here lest I am censored. The Gonzos have almost absolute control of the media.

if he is so convinced Austin should show us , like Joseph did, where the Labour Partys' analysis is not true. At least Joseph told us were Austin lied.

it looks that the government is only ready to do unsustainable quotes but he does not prove it at all .

@ Mario Mifsud - Are you perhaps implying that the JPO case was an invention, and actually nothing ever happened there? Are you also implying that the Mitts case was also an invention, and only the fruit of our immagination? People like you, with your narrow viewpoints and partisan extremism are a danger to society and should be exiled.

From what I've been reading on this paper, it doesn't seem like the JPO affair was invented at all. It's pretty clear that he knew precisely what was going on.

Either way, that's no reason for the Ministry not to release it's own workings and explaining on what basis it's claiming the MLP figures are invented.

Both parties should jointly and amicably agree to outsource these sort of calculations to one (or more) independent consultants. After all, the only independent evaluation we've seen - that by Dr. Mallia a few weeks ago - was pretty clear in stating that the government's thresholds and statistics are way of the realistic marks.

the same way MLP invented the JPO affair perhaps, or the Mitts case, or the ADT irregularities amongst other things
