The police in Gozo have arrested five foreigners who were found to be in Malta without the required documentation.

The arrests followed a number of raids by district and Mobile Squad police in Marsalforn and Fontana.

Three of the men were Syrian, Libyan and Palestinian respectively, while the nationality of the others still has to be established.

The police said that during a search of the apartment where the Palestinian was found, officers discovered drug-related material.
