No night bus for major tourist attraction
We are on holiday - we discovered Malta four years ago and fell instantly in love with the country. Last weekend we were so disappointed to discover that the buses from Vittoriosa to Valletta do not run after 9.30 p.m.
We had to leave the cooking of the risotto at Birgufest before we could sample it because of the difficulty in getting back to Valletta for our onward journey to St Julians. It is a shame that visitors cannot enjoy these local festivals unless they have their own transport.
The next evening we revisited and met two wonderful Maltese people, Alessandra and Victor, who very kindly gave us a conducted tour of the city and also drove us back to St Julians. Our heartfelt thanks to them. Unfortunately we forgot to get contact details.

paying 40 or 50 euros for a taxi is so much, for a great event like that with any entrance fee?

Yes Stephen Baldacchino, I have heard of the taxis in malta, charging 20 euros to go from the bus terminal in Bugibba to the Bella Vista Hotel barely a mile down the road! So I can imagine what they would charge the tourist to go from Valletta to St Julians.

How wonderful Ann Crawford just discovered Malta only four years ago, and yet, she went to a place called "Birgu" steeped in hostory far longer than anyone can write about.

So please lets have a service from the park and ride centre to events like this. It will encourage us to use them and not our cars to cause the gridlock as at Birgu.

This happened to us also. What's the point of having these activities when there is no public transport available. Also efficient public transport for these activities would encourage people to make use of it and leave their car at home therefore lessening traffic jams, parking problems and pollution!
