Video: Exercise tests preparedness for offshore oil spill

The Malta Maritime Authority and the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) this morning tested their preparedness for an offshore oil spill by holding an Oil Recovery Response Exercise off Valletta.

Several vessels were deployed to contain an 'oil spill' to prevent it from reaching the shore and then to collect it.

Harbour Master Capt Richard Gabriele explains the procedure (See video).
