Cruise visitors up 19% in September

The number of cruise passengers coming to Malta rose by 12,339 (19.1%) in September to reach 76,812, when compared to the same month last year, the NSO said today. Embarkations from and landings in Malta stood at 3,004 and 3,227 persons respectively.

Embarkations from and landings in Malta stood at 3,004 and 3,227 persons respectively.

As a result, the total cruise passenger traffic in Malta in the first nine months of this year reached 423,562, an increase of 15.2 percent over the same period last year.

The growth wasunderpinned by increases in the American, British and Spanish markets. Passengers from Germany and Italy declined by 9,924 and 8,092 respectively.
