The Coast Road has been reopened after the police removed oil which was spilled on the road, creating a hazard earlier this evening.

The police said initial investigations showed that the oil came from a crane which developed a fault as it was being driven from near the Luxol Grounds to the junction to Maghtab.

The conditions caused a number of collisions but no one was injured.
