Records for Zammit, Sammut

Matthew Zammit and Mark Sammut made new inroads on national age-group marks in yesterday's first time-trial of the new season.

Zammit erased the 13-year-old age-group B record of 29.29 seconds in the 50m free, held by Kenny D'Ugo, when clocking 28.68 seconds. Later, the 13-year-old improved his own 50 fly mark set last June by 1.50 seconds when he swam the distance in 30.16 seconds.

Sammut emulated the IASIS swimmer, this time in group C when he finished the 100 free in 58.47 seconds, clipping 0.12 seconds off another record held by D'Ugo.
