Budget in first half of November

Finance Minister Tonio Fenech is expected to present his first budget in the first half of November, the House Business Committee heard yesterday.

Foreign Minister Tonio Borg, who is also Leader of the House, informed the committee that, although he still did not have an exact date for the budget, it was likely to be either November 3 or 10.

Should it be presented on November 3, the debate on it would be concluded by November 19. If it was moved on November 10, the debate would be concluded by November 26. The budget debate would follow its usual pattern of morning and evening sittings.
