In the Boer War (also known as the South African War) 1899-1902, a Captain Driscoll formed his own company of scouts which he called "Driscoll Scouts".

When formed they took part in a number of battles under General Sir Leslie Rundle who later became Governor of Malta (1909-1915).

Serving with the Driscoll Scouts were three Maltese men, Joseph Pace with Regimental Number 432 who enlisted on March 13, 1902, Paul Caruana with Regt. No 483 and Paul Farrugia Regt No. 1226 who joined on May 6, 1902.

Does any reader know if any of the three Maltese returned to Malta when the war was over?
