In their first outing this season, Luxol HC, formerly D6, had the better of Kavallieri RS2 24-14 and, in the other APS Bank Cup match, La Salle confirmed their superiority in men's handball by beating rivals Aloysians ProMinent 24-18.

La Salle produced a fine defensive display as Aloysians played below par. Those present anticipated a closer match but the outcome was different. Philip Mifsud's injury was a blow for Aloysians' shooting power whereas the return of Andrew Said for La Salle was vital in such a delicate game.

With Aloysians failing to get their game going, La Salle took full advantage of Clinton Mifsud's shaky display between the posts. Aloysians' cause was not enhanced either when Terence Cassar was sent off at the start of the second half.

Luxol never looked like losing their match but Kavallieri were always close behind. Luxol should be satisfied with the result but their play was littered with some inaccurate shots, particularly from the wings.

In the women's APS Cup, Aloysians Express and La Salle cruised to easy victories. Aloysians beat a depleted Kavallieri side 27-17 and La Salle were 24-8 winners over Luxol Living Well.

Against Kavallieri, Aloysians took the opportunity to field their new signings. The game was always in their hands as Kavallieri showed progress on their first outing in the Super Cup final against La Salle.

After the first half ended 8-3 in their favour, La Salle clicked into gear after the break to secure their victory.

Luxol stayed in contention in the first half but were no match for La Salle on the changeover. On paper, Luxol look to have a good squad but on court the team did not perform as expected.
