Budget in first half of November
The Budget for 2009 will be announced on November 3 or November 10, Deputy Prime Minister Tonio Borg, Leader of the House, said today.
He told a meeting of the House Business Committee that the Budget would certainly be presented in the first half of next month but no firm date has been set yet. The Budget debate then follows its usual pattern of morning and evening sittings.
He said the House will next week continue to debate a resolution for the transfer of a site at Benghajsa to Gasco Energy Ltd for the building of a new gas bottling plant.

Well lets hope there is some tax relief on smaller cars, so we too can enjoy the same benefits as other europens and can afford to buy new modern safer cars. On the other hand heavy Tax Duty should be imposed on the imported 2nd. hand high performance & Large Motor cars over the 2000 cc mark that take 2 car spaces to park and are not suitable for these countries or even as an example in Germany = no road tax but tax increase on vehicles that consump more petrol then small cars and also do more milage and useing the roads more often on regular bases then most people. ie., travellers and such like.Even Italy have adopted a good and wise tax system.

We expect to bite the bullet, get TAXED even more, and yet even MORE TAXES and not to forget more increases in Petrol (while most of the world reduces them) and surcharges. And what did this Government promise us blindly before the elections, only the opposite of what we going to suffer at the budget.
