Labour Party and 'secret' treaties
Joseph Muscat, leader of the Labour Party, has just returned from Libya. Holding a press conference on arrival at Luqa airport, and flanked by the international secretary Alex Sciberras Trigona, he told us that he was given access to a treaty signed between Libya and Italy regarding illegal immigration. It has since transpired that this "secret" document was posted for public viewing on the internet over a month ago. The text of the treaty was also carried in a leading Libyan newspaper for all to read.
The Labour Party has, to date, never divulged the text of the "military" treaty signed by Dr Sciberras Trigona on behalf of the Labour Party and the North Korean regime dictator Kim Yong-il some 25 years ago. Now that would have definitely been classified as "breaking news"!

The Times of Malta published a letter signed Anthony Cachia Casteletti referring to the still(sic) secret “military” treaty the MLP had signed with North Corean regime Kim Yong-il some 25 years ago.
Dear Mr A, Cachia Casteletti, during these nearly 20 years Malta has been governed by EFA and then by the hard fisted smiling Gonzipn.
Hence the secrecy of this “military” treaty has been known by the two P.N. Prime ministers who in turn kept the contents of the treaty secret!
So the MLP kept it secret just for about 7 years and the P.N. for over 18 years.

"It was not only cordless phones that were found, but also weapons."
Given the very bad (but fully deserved) reputation of the police in those years I find it hard to believe their claim that they found any weapons. We're talking about the same police who planted a murder weapon to frame an innocent man.

I Galea, as usual you are absolutely WRONG.
In those days, would you not think that the Labour government would have crucified NP party officials carrying unlicensed firearms?
As a matter of fact the place was vandalized because they could not find any arms which were 'alleged' to be in the Stamperija. Instead, they found an 'illegal' cell phone. Of course I remember those days when a wireless microphone was also illegal. In fact in Labour's time, any new technology was banned for fear of causing more unemployment. The mere mention of computers made Mintoff shake in his boots. His theory was that computers made the kid's minds lazy! Such a progressive man!
What really irks me about what you write, I Galea, is the twisting of the truth or your lack of knowledge about what happened in the disastrous 70s and 80s.

It was not only cordless phones that were found, but also weapons.
How convenient trying to forget about them and trying to change history!
A look at the papers published at the time will enlighten you.

@ M Buhagiar. You should be ashame to mention one of the ugliest episode of the Labour Party Administration. If you have read what came out of the inquiries held you would know what firearms were found and who put them there.

Mr.Cachia Castelletti,
The North Korean dictator back then was Kim il-Sung. His son Kim Jong-il succeeded his father after his death in 1994.

Apart from that, who can prove that the alleged treaty is not simply a figment of the imagination perpetrated by the PN spin machine to put the MLP in bad light?

Please get updated! Since the US decided that Libya is no longer a pariah state, it is its friend and ours; no? Likewise,as North Korea was taken off the list of states who sponsor terrorism. N.Korea is now a"neutral friendly" state to the US, and therefore ours too.! You should get "aggornat" and rid yourself of prejudice and "castelli in aria"! The US has interest and no friends in its foreign policy. We have friends who are myopic to our interests! As good as it gets!

@Anthony Cachia Castelletti
The PN has never told us from where they got all those fire arms which where found in their head quarters back in the 80`s did they?
Would`nt it be possible they got them from North Korea??
Wake up man and get a life. Stop repeating what NET tv feeds you day in day out !!
