Giant cooking pot at Vittoriosa
The cooking pot on a trailer at Victory Square, Vittoriosa.
People stared in bewilderment this afternoon as the world's largest cooking pot was lowered by a crane at Victory Square, Vittoriosa, ahead of Malta's biggest cookery event tomorrow as part of BirguFest.
The pot, large enough to hold risotto for 5,000 people, has a diameter of 3.30 metres and weighs 520 kilos.
People buying a plate of risotto will be making a contribution to Dar tal-Providenza.
The event is being organised by Execoor. The final phase of the cooking will start at 8 p.m.

How nice to read 'good' news! Uplifting words bring joy after reading so many distressful news items.
Well done to the organisers. Eat well the patrons. God Bless ''Dar tal Providenza!''

Congratulations to Execoor for their noble initiative. Let's hope that the Maltese will flock to Birgu in order to participate and donate to Dar tal-Providenza.
