The beliefs of some people who suggest that Malta’s economy may in some way "benefit from the financial crisis" would, in my opinion, appear to be somewhat disingenuous.

As demonstrated by the spectacular collapse of the Icelandic banking system, we are now all part of the same global economic village, our economies and financial institutions are all "inter-connected" and to suggest otherwise is a case of politicians and/or economists being "economical with the truth".
