Police raid nets 8kg of cannabis, €65,000 in cash
The police said this evening that four people are under arrest after a “substantial” discovery of cannabis and cash yesterday afternoon.
The arrests were the outcome of weeks of investigation and surveillance by the members of the Drug Squad.
The police said they had been tailing a number of people and they were stopped and searched late yesterday afternoon in Sliema as drug trafficking was about to take place.
The police found almost eight kilograms of cannabis resin and €65,000 in cash.
The drug was in two cars while the cash was in a house in Sliema, a car and on one of the persons who were arrested.
A small amount of cocaine was also found.
The arrested persons are two men from Sliema aged 64 and 37, a 32-year-old man from Birkirkara and a woman aged 26 from Mosta.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke is holding an inquiry.

Congratulations to the police involved and lets hope that they will net more of these killers.
Although it is the job of every policeman to catch these culprits, I think that it would be nice to reward these people once in a while with some renumeration , After all they are risking their lives for our children. Another point to mention is that lets hope that the magistrate or judge involved does not have a change of heart and let them off with some lenient sentence because of some loop hole in the law, (which is very common).

WELL DONE to the Police personnel involved in this case. The Police together with the Customs and Armed Forces have a difficult task to combat illegal drugs trafficking. Factual co-operation between these force would yield other seizures in the future. PROSIT and KEEP IT UP.
