New institute lays stress on medical education

The Malta Institute for Medical Education held a three-day paediatric gastroenterology course that was attended by over 50 doctors from 13 countries.

The event, held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, in Valletta, was aimed at providing doctors with the latest information on the subject.

The participants were addressed by internationally-renowned lecturers on the latest management of inflammatory bowel disease, cealiac disease, necrotising enterocolitis and anorectal anomalies.

The Malta Institute for Medical Education has just been set up with one of its main aims being the organisation of post-graduate medical courses. A large number of Maltese and overseas medical specialists are contributing towards this project. The institute is especially striving to get Maltese doctors who have made a name for themselves abroad to give lectures in Malta.

A full programme of courses can be viewed at www.maltime.com.
