Staff from the Bank of Valletta branch in Birkirkara recently dedicated a few hours to clean up Villa Chelsea's garden. Villa Chelsea, run by the Richmond Foundation, offers residential and day community-based care for those suffering from mental health problems. The clean-up was followed by planting 50 trees, also donated by the bank.

The donation coincided with the commemoration of World Mental Health Day and also took place as part of the bank's Community Week, aimed at strengthening the relationship between the bank and the local community.

"This environmental initiative coincided perfectly with World Mental Health Day and we are proud to continue strengthening the bank's relationship with this organisation," John Galea, Birkirkara branch manager, said.

Richmond Foundation chairman Anthony Guillamier, together with CEO Dolores Gauci and Catherine Gonzi, vice-president, and Birkirkara mayor Michael Fenech Adami were also present.

The foundation is an NGO providing community services to people with mental health difficulties. This year, the foundation is commemorating its 15th anniversary.
