No information that MPs' e-mails were tampered with - MITTS
The chairman of MITTS, the government's IT agency, has told former Opposition leader Alfred Sant that to date, it had not resulted that any MITTS employees accessed e-mail accounts used by him or other MPs.
Claudio Grech wrote to Dr Sant after the former Labour leader demanded information following reports that people may have gained unauthorised access to his e-mails.
Mr Grech said that as far as the Board of Directors was informed, no MITTS employee was being investigated for unauthorised access or tampering of e-mails belonging to any MP.
Mr Grech explained that early last September MITTS called in the police following suspicion of a violation of internal procedures by company employees. However, none of these cases were related to access, or tampering with, e-mail accounts by any MITTS employees.
Mr Grech said he had spoken to the Police Commissioner who said he had no reports or information of unlawful access to the email accounts. He invited Dr Sant to contact the Commissioner, should he so wish.
He reiterated that while investigations were continuing, MITTS could not comment or give information on the nature of investigations. However the investigations never had to do with the allegations made in a local newspaper.

Something is not tallying up here.
If the PM brought in the Police to investigate and the Police have said nothing on the case yet, how is it that the MITTS Chairman Mr.Claudio Grech speaks publicly on the same matter, when it is still under investigation?
Is this right or wrong? I am not sure.

usually it is a standard practise to change your password every so often. sometimes it is asked by the system and it is in the interest of the person to change jis passwords regularly both of his/her home pc and that of work. hackers are everywhere. there is nothing strange to change the password.

All gov employees are asked to change their password on regular basis. Nothing strange about that

OK OK OK understood. They are not aware of what happened and need the police to find out. If nothing happened why were all the passwords changed to new ones? There is something fishy and tampering with personal things such as e-mail of a person is also critical.
