Gasan celebrates 80 years of Ford

The main hall of the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta, was turned into a time tunnel that presented 80 years of history since Gasan was awarded the Ford franchise in Malta.

A multimedia display during the event, held on Wednesday, inclu-ded a number of vehicles and other memorabilia from five distinct eras: The 1920s and 1930s; the 1940s and 1950s; the 1960s and 1970s; the 1980s and 1990s; 2000 and beyond. From the 1931 Ford Model A, to the SS (a precursor of the Jaguar) of 1935; a Merlin V12 engine, similar to those used in the Spitfires and Hurricane aircraft during World War II, a 1968 Ford Escort Mk I and a Ford Sierra RS 500 Cosworth dating back to the 1980s were all there.
