Local enforcement proceeds
Since the coming into effect of local enforcement, local councils in Malta and Gozo have been paid a total of just over €44 million, while €10.54 million are still pending.
The information was given by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi answering a parliamentary question by David Agius (PN).

That's another reason why we should start thinking about getting rid of Local Councils.
In some countries these are called 'council rates' which are paid by each individual household, and which rates goes to pay for the services that your local council provide or is meant to provide.
In Malta we can call them Warden Rates!
What is the difference? we still end up paying!
Be assured that it will not be many years before Council Rates will be introduced in Malta!
