Union loans for injured dockers
The Malta Dockers' Union will be extending loans to port workers who are injured at work and spend more than six months on injury leave. The union will be lending a maximum of €12,000 without interest, paid in €1,000 dividends a month to the injured party.
Once back at work, the injured party will then pay the amount back in €500-payments.

we live in a welfare state. The social security paid by the workers should compensate the worker when he or she gets sick.
