Opposition leader Joseph Muscat, currently on a visit to Libya, yesterday attended meetings in the Libyan Congress and followed a presentation given to Libyan and Italian personalities, the Labour Party said.
Those present included former Italian political heavyweights Lamberto Dini and Giulio Andreotti.The Libyan side included Abdul Ati El Obeidi, Mohammed Siala and Mohammed Shalgam all serving or former officials in the Libyan government.
The MLP said the Maltese delegation discussed illegal immigration and energy prices.
Dr Muscat and former Serbian president Ivan Lilich were later the guests of honour for an activity attended by thediplomatic corps, including Maltese Ambassador Joseph Cassar.
Dr Muscat also toured the Corinthia Bab Africa Hotel in the heart of Tripoli and was briefed about new projects in Libya in which the Corinthia Group is involved.
